This is a two-day event includes poker tournament, concerts and parties
to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to be held onDecember 8 and 9th
2005 at the Morongo Casino.
In September 2005 The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation announced the creation
of “65 Roses Texas Hold’em Poker Challenge,” a three-day,
celebrity-studded poker tournament and fundraising event taking place
November 1-3, 2005 at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon,
Calif.
The inaugural event will allow participants a unique opportunity to
mingle with and test their poker skills against celebrities from sports,
television and the big screen in a heads up, no-limit Texas Hold’em
format.
"We are very excited about being part of the hottest game in
U.S., Texas Hold'em." said Michael Shumard, director of special
events, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. "Charity poker tournaments
are the new fundraising trend and we're very happy to be one of the
leading organizations benefiting from the generosity of businesses like
Alamo Poker, Morongo Casino, and Fox Sports Net. Lots of money will
be raised from this event that will benefit 30,000 young people who
live the daily fight against Cystic Fibrosis."
The cost to attend the three-day event was $500 for a single participant
and $750 per couple. Attendees received a seat in the poker tournament,
automatic entry into two evenings of exciting and high-energy parties
and concerts located in a nightclub within the Morongo Casino Resort
and Spa.
